3rd and Final Spreading @ Red Rocks: Success.

It was a very clear, warm night and pretty much a full moon.

Quite literally a perfect evening to see a show and say one final goodbye.

There is a note below taken from Matty's will that says "Take a few of those ashes to a concert at Red Rocks, go up to the top in the back and wait for those famous warm winds (thermals) to pick up, raise a glass and let us go!". Well, it was a warm night, but there was no winds at all. We all met up at the beginning of the show, at the top in the back just as Matty wanted, split up the ashes, but there wasn't even a hint of a breeze. Nothing. We couldn't do anything too conspicuous as a group, because it wasn't like we were supposed to be having an ash spreading party at the concert. So we all went our separate ways and at some moment, we would all just let the ashes go in our own personal way. Rosa and I went back to watch the show, and maybe 3/4 of the way through, I went to use the boy's room and then made my way down near the stage where I took this picture. With Matty in hand, I made my way back to the top, to the back where we had originally met as a group. Still no wind. By this time I already needed to take another beer wiz, so off I went. When I got back, I just decided to let him go. At this point, there's next to nobody at the top because everyone is watching the show. It's pretty much just me and security walking around. There was still no wind, not even a breeze, so I just decided to go ahead, walk around and empty my dixie cup of Matty/Norton out. I pulled out the cup, started walking & thinking about Matty, and I swear to God, out of nowhere, up came the soft warm breezes that Matty had mentioned in his will. Creepy? Absolutely! But what freakin timing. Off I went, strolling around the upper deck, sprinkling the ashes in the stiff warm winds. It was totally amazing. I truly couldn't believe it. It was like he was there with me. I'd like to think that maybe he was. When he was alive, Matty saw just about 150 shows at Red Rocks. Quite impressive. Part of him and his soul will now be forever hangin out at this beautiful venue, catching every show from now until eternity.

Cheers Dude. Have a blast...

The following is taken in part from Matty's Will:

"Cremate me please! Get a couple of cold frosty's in ya and get on your mtn. bikes, take me and what is left of Norton (mix up both our ashes) and up on the Tie Hack Tour let most of us go, on a nice sunny, fall day when the Aspen's are yellow. "
"Take a few of those ashes to a concert at Red Rocks, go up to the top in the back and wait for those famous warm winds (thermals) to pick up, raise a glass and let us go!"
"... go to Califon, NJ and spread some ashes both at my parents' grave and at the house in which I grew up."
