For the past several weeks I have been in NJ doing work and was debating on how to go about spreading Matty's ashes. I know many of you wanted to attend, but this particular morning I just woke up and headed off to Califon to do the deed. I ended up just spending a single, beautiful spring Jersey day in the cemetery working on my parent's grave site, enjoying a couple Heinies, and having some quality family time.

You can see from the 1st photo below of the headstone, that it had been severly tilted forward and leaning to one side. Part of what I did this day was to level the stone and pour about 2-3 inches of cement underneath to ensure it's upright integrity. While mixing the cement, I thought what the hell, and just like Jimmy Hoffa, I dumped 1/3 of the Bag 'O Matty/Norton mix into the cement. The two of them are now permenantly enshrined in this spot for enternity. Below the surface of the ground, in the cement, which no one will ever see, I scratched "MRC Lives - 4-19-09 - Love Ya Bro".

Another 1/3 of the Bag 'O Matty/Norton mix was sprinkled amongst the flowers and newly planted grass seed that I spread out. I was laughing to myself as I was looking at the freshly renovated area around the grave, that the Crines are going to have the best looking lawn in the neighborhood.

Lastly I visited the home in which we grew up in. Although I don't want to say how I did it, I successfully fulfilled Matty's wishes to spread some of his ashes at the house. The last photos on this page are quite humbling. They are the last pics of Matty at the house, both in life and in death.

To say the least, it was a very emotional day for me.

Cheers to all.
